As the Mine Site Controller, you'll lead a small team and collaborate with both site and corporate stakeholders to ensure robust financial reporting, internal controls, and operational forecasting. You’ll play a key role in enhancing processes, enabling data-driven decision-making, and supporting the broader finance strategy.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Managing a team of mine site accountants and overseeing daily financial operations.
Leading the preparation of timely and accurate monthly financial statements.
Driving the month-end and year-end close processes at the site level.
Coordinating audit activities and ensuring compliance with internal controls.
Preparing annual budgets and rolling forecasts, analyzing performance, and identifying variances.
Supporting the implementation of new ERP systems and financial planning tools.
Ensuring all site-level transactions are accurate, complete, and properly recorded.
Working cross-functionally with internal teams and external partners to improve financial processes.
Developing and maintaining strong financial policies and procedures in line with company standards.
Contributing to the preparation of management and Board-level financial reports.
Providing actionable insights and recommendations to senior leadership to improve site performance.
What You’ll Need To Be Successful:
~ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related discipline.
~ CPA designation (or in progress).
~7–10+ years of finance and accounting experience, with strong preference for mining industry exposure.
~ Deep knowledge of IFRS and/or US GAAP and experience with financial reporting and consolidations.
~ Demonstrated ability to lead teams and work effectively in a site-based, matrixed organization.
~ Expert-level Excel skills and familiarity with financial systems and ERP platforms.
~ Strong analytical thinking, communication skills, and attention to detail.
~ Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment with a compressed workweek schedule.
