Laboratory Technician – Entry Level (Chemistry/Biology)

Pay Rate: $18.57/hr

12 Months of Contract Possibility of Extension or Conversion

Location : Richmond, VA 23220

We are seeking an Entry-Level Laboratory Technician to join our R&D team. This role is ideal for recent graduates or early-career professionals in Chemistry, Biology, or related sciences who are looking to gain hands-on laboratory experience in a professional research and development setting. The technician will assist with compounding, sample preparation, and lab operations while learning industry best practices in safety, quality, and compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • Support R&D team with compounding, sample preparation, and prototyping activities.
  • Operate basic lab equipment (balances, pH meters, etc.) under supervision.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, lab records, and inventory.
  • Assist with receiving and labeling raw materials, ensuring proper storage.
  • Help coordinate sample distribution, sensory panel logistics, and internal testing support.
  • Ensure adherence to lab safety protocols and quality standards (cGMP/GLP).

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, or related science (recent grads encouraged to apply).
  • Prior experience in a lab (academic, internship, or professional) is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail with record-keeping and documentation.
  • Comfortable working with chemicals and following lab safety practices.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
