Surgical Technologist (or Certified Surgical Technologist)

Job Title: Surgical Technologist

Department: Surgical Services

Schedule: Monday - Friday (8x5 or 4x10)

Pay: $23-$37/hr depending on experience and if certified

Sign on Bonus : $5,000! (no tenure limit)

Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Surgical Technologist to join our Operating Room team. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, this role supports surgical and invasive procedures by preparing instruments, maintaining a sterile field, and assisting the surgical team to ensure safe and efficient patient care.

Reports To: Clinical Leader, RN Manager, or Director of Surgical Services

• Key Responsibilities: Assist in surgical procedures by setting up and maintaining sterile instruments, supplies, and equipment.
• Serve as the scrub person for operative cases, passing instruments and anticipating surgical team needs.
• Ensure sterile field integrity and address contamination issues as needed.
• Perform counts with the circulating RN to ensure patient safety.
• Help clean and turn over ORs between procedures.
• Transport used instruments for decontamination and processing.
• Follow infection control and universal precaution protocols.
• Participate in ongoing training and skill development related to perioperative practices.

Qualifications:

• Education: Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program OR 5 years of surgical tech experience required.
• Experience: 1 year of perioperative experience preferred.
• Licensure/Certification: No certification required.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association) required within first week of employment and must be maintained.
• Skills & Abilities: Strong understanding of sterile technique and OR workflows.
• Positive interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team.
• Basic computer proficiency.
• Initiative in maintaining job-related expertise.
