Location: Bel Air, Maryland

Employment Type: Full-time 25/26 school year

Position Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist to deliver individualized and group services to students presenting with speech, language, and communication needs. You’ll play a crucial role in enabling students to thrive academically and socially within the school environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct speech and language evaluations and screenings using appropriate standardized and informal tools and interpretation.
  • Develop, implement, and adjust Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) based on assessment outcomes.
  • Provide direct therapy to individuals or groups to address identified needs (e.g., articulation, expressive/receptive language, fluency, pragmatics, AAC).
  • Monitor, document, and report student progress , tailoring methods as needed.
  • Participate actively in IEP and multidisciplinary team meetings , offering expert recommendations and collaborating with educators and families.
  • Provide consultation and training for teachers, families, and staff to support generalization of speech and language goals.
  • Maintain accurate caseload records, session notes , and any required compliance documentation (e.g., Medicaid billing).
  • Stay informed on relevant special education laws and best practices , maintaining licensure and participating in professional development.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders from an accredited institution.
  • State licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist and/or Eligibility to obtain licensure.
  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred or ability to obtain post-hire.
  • Demonstrated experience in school or pediatric settings , including familiarity with IEP processes and special education frameworks.
  • Proficiency with documentation tools , scheduling, and data tracking.
  • Excellent communication , interpersonal, and organizational skills, with a collaborative and student-centered approach.
  • Proactive in staying abreast of professional growth opportunities and relevant research.

Preferred Candidates May Also Have

  • Bilingual abilities or proficiency with Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) systems.
  • Experience working across inclusive settings or co-teaching models.
  • Familiarity with federal and state regulations related to special education.
