As a Software Developer at Orthomerica, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining custom web, cloud, and desktop applications that support critical operations across manufacturing, customer service, and quality control. Reporting to the Senior Software Manager on the Advanced Technology team, you’ll collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to gather requirements, implement scalable solutions, and support internal deployments. You'll participate in code reviews, manage source control with Git, and contribute to system verification, documentation, and performance optimization. This is a hands-on role with real impact—where your code supports the production of life-changing medical devices and scanning technologies.

Responsibilities include
• Develop and maintain custom web, desktop, and cloud-based applications.
• Support internal systems that power core business functions.
• Collaborate on system design, architecture, and clean, scalable code.
• Participate in code reviews and agile workflows to continuously improve our products.
• Troubleshoot, test, and optimize applications to ensure performance and reliability.
• Work cross-functionally with teams and stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver high-impact solutions.
• Research and implement new tools, technologies, and best practices.
• Document development processes, application specs, and system updates.
• Use Git for version control and collaborative development.
• Support system validation, verification, and compliance documentation.
• Communicate project status and challenges clearly with your team and leadership.

Mandatory Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent
• 3-5 years of experience in Software Development
• Knowledge of basic object-oriented programming design patterns

• Familiarity with Software Development Lifecycle methodologies and frameworks.
• Experience working in a regulated market (FDA, FAA, FCC, ISO 27001, SOC 2, etc.)
• Experience with GxP-validated environments.
• A proactive mindset with a knack for streamlining processes and proposing smart solutions.
• Working experience with C#, HTML/CSS, JavaScript, and SQL.
• Working experience developing ASP.net applications,
• Experience documenting software projects, processes, and design specs.
