Job Description

About the Position:

We are seeking a technically strong and commercially minded qualified actuary to join our Global Longevity pricing team. The role is key to our US business and involves pricing and benchmark development for US longevity reinsurance, relating to Pension Risk Transfer (PRT) and in-force longevity blocks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for modelling and pricing US longevity reinsurance deals — from initial assessment through execution and transition to the in-force team — including data preparation, experience analysis, basis setting, cash-flow projection and reconciliation, and sensitivity analysis.
  • Collaborate with the Global Longevity team leadership to determine pricing strategy and bid strategy for specific deals.
  • Conduct research and development on US benchmark pricing bases and work with our Research and Innovation team to explore benchmarks for new geographic markets (e.g. Canada).
  • Support the enhancement and maintenance of longevity pricing tools and modelling methodologies to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Interact with clients as appropriate at conferences, during deal negotiations and due diligence visits.

Qualifications

Technical Skills / Competencies:

  • Strong actuarial modelling and analytical capabilities.
  • Experience with actuarial projection systems (e.g., GGY AXIS, RiskAgility FM) is desirable.
  • Ability to work with large and complex datasets.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Experience with statistical software such as R would be a plus.

Behavioral Competencies:

  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently as well as collaboratively.
  • High level of adaptability and willingness to take initiative.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective team player who thrives in a culturally diverse and dynamic international environment.
  • Pragmatic thinker with sound commercial judgment.

Work Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in life (re-)insurance, pricing, valuation, or actuarial consulting.
  • Experience in the US Pension Risk Transfer market is preferred, but not essential.

Professional Qualifications or Designations:

  • FSA or experienced ASA required.
