Position Summary:
Our client is seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Purchasing Manager to oversee procurement operations for our manufacturing facility in Charlotte, NC. This role is responsible for sourcing quality materials, negotiating with suppliers, managing inventory levels, and ensuring cost-effective purchasing practices that align with production goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement purchasing strategies aligned with company objectives.
Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure optimal terms and pricing.
Monitor supplier performance and maintain strong vendor relationships.
Collaborate with production, engineering, and finance teams to forecast material needs.
Manage inventory levels to ensure timely availability of materials while minimizing excess.
Analyze market trends and adjust purchasing strategies accordingly.
Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
Prepare and present regular reports on purchasing metrics, cost savings, and supplier performance.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
5+ years of experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Strong negotiation, analytical, and organizational skills.
Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing and just-in-time (JIT) inventory practices is a plus.
Preferred Skills:
Certification in supply chain or procurement (e.g., CPM, CPSM, CSCP).
Experience with ISO standards and quality assurance processes.
Familiarity with local and international sourcing.
