Position Overview:

We are seeking a Materials Planner who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This role requires a detail-obsessed individual with a proactive mindset, capable of transforming logistical challenges into efficient, reliable plans. The ideal candidate will align material availability, scheduling, and customer delivery timelines to meet and exceed service expectations.

This person will be an essential part of Service Center operations, ensuring that materials flow seamlessly through our processes and that our customers receive what they need, when they need it.

Key Responsibilities

• Translate customer demand into material requirements using ERP systems, ensuring proper stock levels to fulfill commitments.
• Coordinate with Virginia facility to track shipments, communicate delivery timelines, and resolve material flow issues.
• Oversee bin transfers and receiving activities to maintain accurate and organized inventory.
• Manage internal rework and customer RMAs, ensuring proper tracking and routing in the ERP system.
• Prepare and issue accurate, timely shipping documentation to customers.
• Issue materials with precision and traceability in the ERP system.
• Lead and execute routine cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
• Coordinate logistics and paperwork for subcontracted coated work.
• Communicate with customers regarding order flow, logistics, and status updates.
• Proactively identify and resolve inventory issues before they impact the customer.
• Support carting operations as needed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills

• 3+ years of experience in production planning, logistics, or materials coordination, ideally in a manufacturing setting.
• Strong attention to detail with proven documentation and inventory accuracy.
• High ownership mindset with the ability to anticipate needs and take initiative.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills in a dynamic environment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; effective with internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel (data entry, analysis, and reporting).
• Flexibility to work extended or off-hours as needed to meet customer demands.
