Job Description

Position Summary

Phoenix Spirit Group, LLC is a rapidly growing company that provides traffic control products and services to clients throughout the states of North and South Carolina. The Traffic Control Estimator is responsible for identifying, analyzing, and preparing cost estimates and traffic control plans for a variety of infrastructure and road construction projects. This role is critical to operations and customer support as it is responsible for evaluating project specifications, interpreting DOT standards, and developing accurate and competitive bids. The Estimator collaborates closely with internal teams and external stakeholders while maintaining a strong understanding of industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Essential Functions

  • Search appropriate databases for new projects and job opportunities
  • Identify, analyze and interpret plans and DOT standards to develop appropriate estimates
  • Identify and provide deviations from bid requests including scope and specifications
  • Utilize appropriate standards and historical data to develop appropriate pricing estimates
  • Present cost estimates to customers
  • Manage and maintain data to show bid status and bid award performance
  • Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational and training workshops
  • Prepare traffic control plans
  • Track bid deadlines and proposed project start dates to ensure on time delivery of bids/estimates

Skills and Abilities

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction plans, DOT drawings, and technical specifications
  • Strong knowledge of cost estimation for materials, labor and equipment
  • Experience using estimating software and CRM platforms
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to assess project risks and complexities
  • Excellent Time Management and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to work independently and consistently meet deadlines
  • Ability to analyze trends and prepare summary reports
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with vendors, subcontractors and clients
  • Able to work cross functionally with sales, billing, and operations teams

Required/ Preferred Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of relevant experience in estimating, bidding, or project coordination preferably in traffic control, construction, or infrastructure.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in any related field; Construction, Civil Engineering, etc. a plus but not required. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Validstate issued driver’slicense subject to MVR evaluation

Work Location

The American Flagging, LLC headquarters is in Hudson, NH. This position will be based out of headquarters with travel to job sites as needed.
